Why Connect Google to Ping

Connecting your Google account allows Ping to:

  • Automatically pull in emails and threads between your team and clients

  • Show recent communication history inside each client profile

  • Sync meetings and calendar events to display upcoming and past calls

  • Power AI features like Meeting Summaries, Follow-Up Suggestions, and Email Insights

Step 1 — Open Your Integrations Page

  1. Log in to Ping Assistant

    Attachment.tiff
  2. Click your workspace name in the top-left corner

  3. Select Settings → Integrations

  4. Under “Available Integrations,” choose Gmail & Calendar

Step 2 — Connect Your Gmail Account

  1. Click Connect Gmail

  2. A Google permissions window will appear

  3. Select the account you’d like to connect (typically your firm email)

  4. Review the requested permissions and click Allow

Ping only reads metadata and relevant communication between you and your clients. It never sends or modifies emails on your behalf.

Once connected, you’ll see a green “Connected” badge next to Gmail.

Step 3 — Connect Your Google Calendar

  1. From the same Integrations page, click Connect Calendar

  2. Select the same Google account you used for Gmail

  3. Approve the permissions request (Ping only needs read-only access to your events)

Ping will automatically sync:

  • Upcoming client meetings

  • Past events used for notes and summaries

  • Attendee lists so Ping can recognize participants

When connected, a “Connected” badge will appear next to Calendar.

Step 4 — Using the Integration

After connecting:

  • Open any Client Page to view new Emails and Meetings tabs

  • Ping automatically categorizes emails and meetings by client

  • Use the Meeting Assistant to generate summaries, tasks, and follow-ups

Disconnecting Integrations

To Disconnect your connected account:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations

  2. Click Disconnect Gmail or Disconnect Calendar

If you change Google accounts, disconnect and reconnect using the new login.

Troubleshooting

If Gmail or Calendar isn’t syncing:

  • Confirm you’re logged into the correct Google account

  • Reconnect the integration if your token has expired (Ping will prompt you automatically)

  • Check that your Google Workspace admin hasn’t disabled third-party app access

Tip

Once Gmail and Calendar are connected, Ping’s Client Intelligence begins working automatically. You’ll see summaries of client threads, meeting recaps, and recommended follow-ups—helping your firm stay one step ahead without manual updates.
