How to Create a New Client in Ping

Creating Clients in Ping
Clients in Ping represent the companies you work with. Each client can have one or more contacts, which are the individual people associated with that company. Linking contacts to clients is essential because it allows Ping to connect emails, meetings, and activity to the right company.
Why Clients and Contacts Matter
When contacts are linked to a client, Ping can:
Automatically pull in email conversations.
Sync meetings and calendar activity.
Build a complete timeline of interactions.
Power features like search, AI-assisted email drafting, and workflows using real client context.
Without this connection, Ping can’t associate your communication with the correct client.
How to Create a New Client
Follow these steps:
In the left sidebar, click Clients.
Click New Client.
Enter the company name for the client.
Add one or more contacts:
(Optional) Assign the client to a team if you want to limit visibility to specific teammates.
Click Create Client.
Once created, the client will appear in your clients list with the associated contacts linked.
Adding or Managing Contacts Later
You can always update a client after it’s created.
Follow these steps:
Open the client from the Clients list.
Search for additional contacts to link, or add a new contact by entering their email.
Save your changes.
All emails, meetings, and contact details for those people will now be connected to that client.
Viewing Client Activity and Memory
When you open a client page and initialize memory, Ping gathers:
Past email communication
Meeting history
Related contact information
This data appears in the client’s timeline, giving you a complete view of your relationship with that company. You can then use Ask Ping to interact with and act on this information.
What to Do Next
After creating clients and linking contacts, you can start:
Searching client history
Drafting emails with context
Launching workflows
Using AI features with accurate client data
Setting up clients correctly from the start ensures you get the most value out of Ping.
