Recording In Person Meetings on Ping

Ping lets you record in person meetings using live audio from your computer or phone. Once recorded, you can name the meeting, add participants, and review notes, action items, and speakers just like any other meeting.

Record an In Person Meeting on Desktop

Use this option when you are meeting in person and want to record using your computer’s microphone.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click New Meeting in the sidebar. If the sidebar is collapsed, click the + New button.

  2. Select Live Audio.

  3. Confirm your microphone is working by checking the input level and change the microphone source if needed.

  4. Click Record to start recording.

  5. Continue using your computer as normal while Ping records in the background.

  6. When finished, click Stop, then select Save and Upload.

After saving, you will be taken to the meeting page while the recording uploads and processes.

Name the Meeting and Add Participants

After the recording starts processing, it is important to update the meeting details.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click the meeting title and replace Voice Recording with a clear meeting name.

  2. Add Participants who were part of the conversation.

  3. Save your changes.

Adding participants ensures conversations about clients or contacts are saved to the correct client memory.

Update Speaker Names

Once processing is complete, Ping may detect multiple speakers.

Follow these steps:

  1. Review the detected speakers.

  2. Assign names to each speaker.

  3. Click Save and Reprocess to apply the updates.

This improves transcript accuracy and makes the meeting easier to review later.

Review the Recording

After processing, you can:

  • Listen to the recording

  • Review notes and action items

  • Use the meeting like any other Ping meeting

Record an In Person Meeting on Mobile

You can also record in person meetings using your phone.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Ping app and sign in.

  2. Tap Live Recording.

  3. Allow microphone permissions when prompted.

  4. Tap Start to begin recording.

  5. Keep the app open and your phone screen on during the entire recording.

  6. Tap Stop, then select Save.

Important notes for mobile recording:

  • You must keep the app open the entire time.

  • Locking your phone or leaving the recording screen will stop the recording.

  • Mobile recording will continue to improve as new app updates are released.

After saving, the recording will upload and appear on your Ping home page, where you can name the meeting and add participants.

  • Always name your meeting to keep your workspace organized.

  • Add all relevant participants to build accurate client memory.

  • Assign speakers after processing for better transcripts.

  • For mobile recordings, ensure your phone stays awake and on the recording screen.
