Why offer it
What sales tax advisory is, and what you can sell.
How sales tax works
A business owes sales tax in a state once it has enough sales there ( economic nexus) or people or inventory there ( physical nexus). Then it has to register, collect and file, whether or not it collected anything.
Rule of thumb
Most states start at $100,000 in sales over 12 months. California, Texas and New York
use $500,000. Sales tax platforms track every state for you.
Why your clients need it
Clients rarely say "sales tax." They grow into new states, hire remote people and launch online, and the obligation shows up quietly. Uncollected tax becomes their own bill, plus penalties. The firm that catches it first earns the work.
