Saved views let you save a filtered version of the Action Items table and return to it later with one click. They are useful when you regularly check the same task list, such as past due items, unassigned work, items for a specific client, or tasks due in a certain date range.

What an action item view saves

An action item view saves the current table state for the Action Items page, including:

  • Whether you are viewing All Items or Past Due.
  • Search text.
  • Status filters.
  • Meeting filters.
  • Client filters.
  • Contact filters.
  • Assignee filters, including unassigned items.
  • Due date range.
  • The current action item table sort.

Saved views do not change the action items themselves. They do not update titles, descriptions, assignees, statuses, due dates, or column layout. They only save how the Action Items table is being viewed.

How to save an action item view

  1. Open the Action Items page.
  2. Choose All Items or Past Due.
  3. Apply the filters, search, due date range, and sort you want to reuse.
  4. Click Manage views above the table.
  5. Choose Create new view.
  6. Enter a clear name, such as My open items or Past due client follow-ups.
  7. Click Create.

The new view appears as a button next to Manage views and becomes active right away.

How to switch between action item views

Each saved action item view appears as a button above the Action Items table. Click a view name to apply its saved table state. If the saved view was created from All Items or Past Due, Ping switches back to that view when it is applied.

The active view stays highlighted so you can tell which saved task list you are using.

How to update or rename an action item view

  1. Click the saved view you want to change.
  2. Adjust the Action Items table filters, search, due date range, tab, or sort as needed.
  3. Click Manage views.
  4. Choose Update current view.
  5. Rename the view if needed.
  6. Click Update.

Updating replaces the saved table state for that view with your current Action Items table state.

How to delete an action item view

  1. Click the saved view you want to remove.
  2. Click Manage views.
  3. Choose the delete option for that view.
  4. Confirm by clicking Delete view.

Deleting a view only removes the saved shortcut. It does not delete action items or change their assignments, statuses, or due dates.
