Using Ask Ping
Ask Ping answers questions using context from your meetings, clients, and other Ping data. You can open it from anywhere in the app and attach the meetings or clients you want it to look at.
Opening Ask Ping
From the Ping icon (anywhere in the app)
Click the Ping icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen. Ask Ping opens as an overlay. Use a suggested prompt or type your own question.
From the Meetings list
The Meetings page is ideal when you want to work with multiple past meetings at once.
- Go to Meetings.
- Select one or more meetings from the list.
- Open Ask Ping — the selected meetings are added as context automatically.
- The context count updates as you select more meetings.
You can filter the Meetings list by date or meeting tags before selecting, to find the right meetings faster.
From a meeting page
When you open Ask Ping inside a meeting, that meeting is added as context automatically. A common use here is drafting a follow-up email. Ask Ping pulls in:
- Meeting recap
- Action items
- Key discussion points
If you pick Gmail, Ping opens your email with the draft filled in. You can edit before sending.
From a client page
When you open Ask Ping inside a client, that client is added as context automatically (marked as auto added). Ask Ping can use:
- Meetings with that client
- Email history
- Client overview and timeline
Example questions:
- What action items are still outstanding for this client?
- What did I promise to deliver before the next meeting?
Adding Context: Clients and Meetings
The key to accurate answers is giving Ask Ping the right context. There are three ways to do this.
Use the "Add clients / Add meetings" button
- In the chat, click Add clients or Add meetings.
- Search for and select one or more clients or meetings.
- Confirm your selection.
Use the @ symbol while typing
- Type @ anywhere in the chat input.
- Search for a client or meeting.
- Select the item to add it as context.
This is a quick way to reference specific clients or meetings inline.
Automatic context
When you open Ask Ping from a client page, a meeting page, or with meetings selected on the Meetings list, that context is added for you automatically. You can review or remove auto-added context before submitting your prompt.
Tips for Better Answers
- Always add the relevant clients and meetings before asking.
- Include multiple meetings when asking summary or trend questions.
- Use the Meetings filters to narrow things down before selecting.
- Double-check that the right context is attached before you submit.
What Ask Ping Can't Do
Ask Ping can't create new clients or contacts. To create one, go to the Clients page and click New Client.
