Salesforce Integration Overview

The Salesforce integration lets you import clients and contacts, sync meeting notes, and sync action items from Ping directly into Salesforce. This keeps your CRM up to date without switching between tools.

Who Can Connect Salesforce

Only organization owners and provisioners can connect Salesforce to Ping. If you don't see the option to connect, ask your organization owner or a provisioner to set it up from the Integrations page.

Before You Connect: Install the Ping App in Salesforce

Before connecting Salesforce to Ping, a Salesforce administrator needs to install the Ping app in your Salesforce org. This is a one-time setup that takes about 30 seconds.

  1. Have your Salesforce admin open this link: Install Ping for Salesforce
  2. Log in with Salesforce admin credentials.
  3. When prompted for the installation key, enter: ping2026
  4. Select Install for All Users (recommended) or choose specific profiles.
  5. Check the acknowledgment checkbox and click Install.
  6. Once installed, you'll see PingAssistant listed under External Client App Manager in Salesforce Setup.

After the app is installed, any user in your org can connect Salesforce to Ping.

Connect Salesforce to Ping

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings in Ping.
  2. Click the Integrations tab.
  3. Find Salesforce and click Connect.
  4. Log in to your Salesforce account when prompted.
  5. Grant the required permissions to allow Ping to access your Salesforce data.
  6. You'll be redirected back to the Integrations page, where Salesforce will now show as connected.

Once connected, you'll be able to import clients, sync meeting notes, and sync action items.

Import Clients and Contacts from Salesforce

After connecting Salesforce, you can import your Salesforce Accounts and Contacts into Ping as clients and contacts.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Clients page in Ping.
  2. Click Import Clients in the Clients page header, then select Salesforce from the picker.
  3. Ping will load a preview of all your Salesforce Accounts and their associated Contacts.
  4. Each account will show its match status:
  • New — This account doesn't exist in Ping yet and will be created as a new client.
  • Will Link — Ping found an existing client that matches by name or contact email and will link them.
  • Already Synced — This account has already been imported.
  1. Select the accounts you want to import.
  2. Optionally choose client assignments for imported clients.
  3. Click Import to complete the process.

Ping will create new client records for unmatched accounts and link contacts automatically. Imported clients will display a Salesforce icon on the Clients page to indicate they are synced.

Sync Meeting Notes to Salesforce

After connecting Salesforce, you can sync meeting summaries as notes in Salesforce.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open a meeting in Ping.
  2. In the center panel, review your meeting summary.
  3. Click Sync to Salesforce.
  4. Ping automatically searches Salesforce for matching Contacts using the meeting participants' email addresses.
  5. You can also browse and select additional Contacts or Accounts to link the notes to.
  6. Select the correct records and click Sync.

Meeting notes are synced as Notes in Salesforce and appear on the associated Contact or Account record.

Sync Action Items to Salesforce

Action items from your meetings can be synced individually or in bulk.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open a meeting in Ping.
  2. Review the action items on the right side.
  3. Choose to sync one action item or use bulk sync to send all at once.
  4. Click Sync to Salesforce.
  5. Ping will search for matching Contacts using participant emails. You can also browse and select additional Contacts or Accounts.
  6. Select the correct records and click Sync.

Action items are synced as Tasks in Salesforce with the following details:

  • Subject — The action item title.
  • Description — The action item details, assignee, and meeting title.
  • Due Date — The action item's due date (defaults to today if not set).
  • Status — Set to "Not Started."

Where Data Appears in Salesforce

Once synced:

  • Meeting notes appear as Notes on the linked Contact or Account record.
  • Action items appear as Tasks on the linked Contact or Account record.
  • Imported clients appear as linked records on the Ping Clients page with a Salesforce icon.

Disconnecting Salesforce

If you need to disconnect the integration:

  1. Go to Settings in Ping.
  2. Click the Integrations tab.
  3. Find Salesforce and click Disconnect.

Disconnecting will stop future syncs but will not remove any data already synced to Salesforce.

Why Use the Salesforce Integration

Using this integration helps you:

  • Import your client list from Salesforce so you don't have to re-enter it manually.
  • Keep meeting notes attached to the right contacts in your CRM.
  • Track action items as tasks in Salesforce without manual data entry.
  • Reduce context switching between Ping and Salesforce.
  • Stay organized with all client interactions in one place.

You're now ready to use the Salesforce integration and keep your CRM fully connected inside Ping.
