You can trim meeting recordings inside of Ping. Ping will then use the trimmed version to update client intelligence.

When to trim a recording

Sometimes Ping Notetaker might record part of the beginning or end of a meeting that you don’t want in Ping. In this case you can trim the meeting so that the section is no longer in the recording and transcript.

Ping Notetaker might record sections of empty meeting at the end of a meeting. In this case, you can trim the meeting’s end time to align with the natural conclusion of the meeting. This will remove the empty section at the end of a meeting’s recording.

How meeting trimming works

When you have access to a meeting, you can view the recording in the sidebar of the meeting’s detail page. Use the “Trim Recording” button to open the video editing window.

You can view the meeting’s recording in the video editing window and adjust the start time and the end time of the portion of the video you want to save. After adjusting these bounds, click the “Trim” button. You will be able to see a preview of the trimmed meeting.

You can cancel and return to the video editing page. If you are satisfied with the new recording, you can click the “Apply trim” button. This will cause the trimmed recording to overwrite the meeting’s previous recording. A transcript from the trimmed recording will overwrite the previous transcript. The new trimmed meeting reprocesses and a new summary will be generated from the trimmed meeting.
