The Anchor integration in Ping connects your proposal and engagement management system to your firm's client data. Once connected, you can view your service catalog, manage client agreements, and use Ping's chat assistant to check scope alignment and draft proposals, all without leaving Ping.
Overview
Ping's Anchor integration syncs two things from your Anchor account:
- Service Templates - Your firm's service offerings with pricing and billing details
- Client Agreements - Active, proposed, and inactive engagement letters linked to your clients
Once synced, Ping's chat assistant can check this data against your meeting transcripts and emails to find upsell opportunities, flag scope creep, and draft proposals.
Ping does not auto-sync from Anchor. You decide when to pull fresh data by clicking the sync button.
Getting Connected
Who can do this: Provisioners only
Step 1: Create an API Key in Anchor
- Go to Anchor API Keys in your Anchor account
- Click Create API Key
- Copy the generated key. You'll need it in the next step
Step 2: Connect in Ping
- Go to Settings > Integrations in Ping
- Find the Anchor integration card
- Click Connect
- Enter your API Key (from Step 1) and your Anchor user email
- Click Save to connect
- Once connected, you'll see a green "Connected" badge on the card
Importing Your Data
After connecting Anchor, you need to pull your services and agreements into Ping:
- Navigate to Revenue > Services > Agreements in the sidebar
- Click Sync from Anchor
- Ping will pull your service templates and client agreements
- You'll see a count of imported items when the sync completes
To refresh your data later, click Sync from Anchor again. This pulls any new or updated services and agreements from your Anchor account.
Service Templates
The Services & Agreements tab displays your firm's service catalog in a table. Each service shows:
- Service Name - The name of the service template
- Description - What the service covers
- Billing Type - How the service is billed
- Pricing - Fixed price or variable rate with unit details
This data is read-only in Ping. To change your service templates, update them in Anchor and sync again.
Managing Client Agreements
Agreements imported from Anchor can be linked to your Ping clients. This is a simple matching step so Ping knows which agreement belongs to which client.
Linking Agreements to Clients
There are two ways to link agreements.
Auto-link everything at once
Click Auto-link to have Ping match as many unlinked agreements as it can, based on name similarity. This is the fastest way to get set up after your first sync. Anything it can't confidently match stays in the unlinked list for you to handle by hand.
Link one at a time
- In the Services & Agreements tab, find the "Agreements Needing Client Links" section
- Each unlinked agreement shows the business name and contact from Anchor
- Use the dropdown to select the matching Ping client. Ping may suggest matches based on name similarity
- Confirm the link in the dialog
Once an agreement is linked, Ping's chat assistant can use it for scope analysis, opportunity detection, and proposal drafting.
Viewing Linked Agreements
Once linked, agreements move to the "Linked Client Agreements" section. You can expand any agreement to see its services, payment terms, and a link back to Anchor.
Unlinking an Agreement
If you linked an agreement to the wrong client, click Unlink next to the client name and it will move back to the unlinked section.
Using the Chat Assistant with Anchor Data
Once your services and agreements are synced and linked, you can ask the chat assistant about them.
Scope Alignment
Ask questions like:
- "Is this in scope for [client]?"
- "Are we being asked to do something outside our agreement?"
- "What services might apply to this situation?"
The assistant checks your agreements against meeting transcripts and emails to answer.
Finding Opportunities
Ask questions like:
- "What service needs does [client] have?"
- "Find upsell opportunities for [client]"
The assistant searches your meeting and email history for discussions that match services not covered by the client's current agreement.
Drafting Proposals
Ask the assistant to:
- "Draft a proposal for [client]"
- "Create a proposal based on those services"
The assistant will find the client's Anchor contact, help you pick a proposal template, and create an editable draft in Anchor with a link to review it.
Requirements
Anchor Account Required
Your firm must have an active Anchor account to use this integration.
For connecting the integration:
- You must be a provisioner in your Ping organization
- You need access to create API keys in Anchor (go to API Keys)
For chat assistant features:
- Services and agreements must be synced from Anchor
- Agreements should be linked to Ping clients for scope analysis to work
- The firm intelligence feature must be enabled for your organization
Tips & Best Practices
Link agreements right after importing
- Scope analysis only works for agreements linked to clients
- Use Auto-link right after your first sync to handle most of them in one click, then clean up the rest by hand
Sync after changes in Anchor
- Create a new agreement or service in Anchor? Click Sync from Anchor to pull it into Ping
- Ping does not auto-sync, so you control when data is refreshed
Use @mentions with chat questions
- When asking about a specific client, @mention the client for more accurate results
- This scopes the search to that client's meetings, emails, and agreements
Review proposals in Anchor
- When the assistant creates a proposal draft, it provides a link to Anchor
- Always review and customize the proposal in Anchor before sending to the client
Troubleshooting
I can't connect Anchor
- Only provisioners in your Ping organization can connect integrations
- If you're a provisioner and still don't see a Connect button, contact [email protected]
Chat assistant features aren't showing up
- The firm intelligence feature must be enabled for your organization
- Contact [email protected] if you believe it should be available
Sync shows zero results
- Verify your Anchor account has service templates and agreements created
- Check that the Anchor connection is still active in Settings > Integrations
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting Anchor
Chat assistant can't find agreement data for a client
- Make sure the client's agreements are linked in the Services & Agreements tab
- Check that you've synced recently. New agreements require a manual sync
Proposal draft creation fails
- Make sure the client has at least one contact linked in Ping
- Verify your Anchor account has at least one proposal template
- Check that Anchor is still connected in Settings > Integrations
Agreement shows wrong client
- Click Unlink next to the client name
- Select the correct client from the dropdown
- Confirm the new link
